Last week the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Lookout Counseling Association and Chattanooga State Community College, hosted the annual College and Career Fair for local high school seniors.
The event is a unique opportunity for students to learn about colleges and universities, while also considering career opportunities in the city of Chattanooga. High school seniors visited the booths of various employers to learn about careers in some of our largest industries. Representatives from the companies promoted the careers students could pursue in Chattanooga and the educational pathways that would lead them there.
Sponsored by Wright Brothers Construction, Vision Hospitality, Miller Industries and Gestamp, the event highlighted the commitment of Chattanooga’s business community to both strengthen and retain young talent.
Wright Brothers Construction, a leader in civil construction services, shared information about jobs in their industry and the technical skills students could learn on the job with Wright Brothers.
Vision Hospitality, a prominent name in the region’s hospitality sector, showcased the diverse career opportunities within the field from hotel management to culinary arts.
Additionally, Chattanooga’s manufacturing sector was well represented, with Miller Industries and Gestamp presenting careers in advanced manufacturing and automotive technology.
The College & Career Fair helped students understand that thriving careers are attainable right here in Chattanooga. The collaboration between the Chattanooga Chamber, local educators and businesses showcases a city dedicated to nurturing its youth and ensuring a bright future for both its residents and its economy.
